Dux at best

-

Horsham trainer Paul Preusker continued his great run of recent form, with another win at Mildura.

The Mckenzie Creek stable saddled up its consistent performer Daffey Dux, in the 1100-metre Melbourne Cup Day at Mildura Handicap at benchmark-70 level.

Ridden by Holly Mckechnie, the son of Gonski flew out of the barriers and rolled to the front.

From there Daffey Dux enjoyed a good run, off the lickitty split tempo.

When in the straight, Daffey Dux showed a good turn of foot, accelerating away from his rivals for a convincing win by three quarters of a length.

Daffey Dux is proving himself a handy money-spinner, earning $55,650 from his 12 starts to date.

So lucky

Telopea Downs trainer Darryl Dodson also tasted success at Mildura, courtesy of his restricted class stayer, We’re So Lucky.

Chelsea Hall took We’re So Lucky straight to the lead in the benchmark-64 2000-metre event, dictating the race beautifully.

The Lookin’ At Lucky four-year-old travelled strongly before the turn and gave a kick in the straight.

We’re So Lucky proved too good for his rivals, dashing away for a twolength win.

We’re So Lucky is developing into a handy little money-spinner, having won three of her past four races.
