Intense karting action

The smell of hot engines and burning rubber, the scream of engines and the intensity of competition fuelled an electric atmosphere during the fourth round of country Victorian go-kart titles at Dooen near Horsham.

Drivers of various ages and experience from across the state and beyond tested themselves in a gripping Victorian Country Series showdown.

The event, featuring a practice day on Saturday before full-blooded racing on Sunday, included 13 race classes.

Wimmera Kart Racing Club joined forces with series organisers to host the event.

Competition at the 518-metre seven-corner Dooen Raceway followed rounds at Ballarat, Cobden and Portland and will now turn its attention to roundfive action at Hamilton on September 9 and 10.

Horsham club members Remo Luciani and Ashley Mitchell recorded a onetwo podium finish in the KA3 senior medium class.
