Golfers made the most of fine winter conditions to play in Dimboola Golf Club’s annual tournament.

The tournament featured men’s and women’s four-ball and mixed threeperso­n ambrose events.

Tournament organisers reported entries were down on last year but were happy with the attendance.

Four-ball events attracted 42 players from Dimboola, Horsham, Nhill, Warracknab­eal, Minyip, Drung, Birchip, Stawell, Natimuk, Halls Gap, Glenorchy and Toolondo clubs.

The ambrose competitio­n featured 30 players from Dimboola, Nhill, Horsham, Brim, Murtoa, Grange, Kaniva and Halls Gap. Results – Four-ball-best-ball stableford: Women, Heather Richards and Jo Donnelly, Dimboola 39 points; r-up, Kneller Lehmann, Dimboola, and Marg Howison, Horsham 38 points; third, Venita Walder, Warracknab­eal and Lyn Boyle, Birchip 37. Nearest the pins, fourth, Leith Johnston, Stawell; 13th, Gillian Phillips, Horsham; 18th, Heather Richards, Dimboola. Men, Max Rogers and Bud Sleep, Natimuk 39 on countback from Peter Koop and Phil Dickerson, Nhill. Third, Barry Cross, Warracknab­eal and Tony Kernick, Drung 38.
