Winners galore in big juniors night

Multiple award winners are celebratin­g after a busy Horsham District Football Netball League junior vote count and presentati­on night.

A three-way tie for an under-17 football best-andfairest award was a major highlight of the event, while Kiana Marshman from Southern Mallee Giants was the toast of the league’s 17 and under netball competitio­n.

Joshua Davis from Swifts, Dylan Bates, Pimpinio, and Hamish Mccrae, Harrowbalm­oral, tied on 25 votes after the under-17 football count.

They were two ahead of runner-up Matthew Mcculloch of Taylors Lake, while Sebastian Relouw, Noradjuha-quantong, and Riley Jervis, Natimuk United, polled 20.

Marshman won her award by five votes from runnerup Tessa Marra of Jeparitrai­nbow and Jordie Mcauliffe of Laharum was third with 23.

A 15 and under netball count also produced a tie with Denita Reid from Southern Mallee Giants and Mikayla Treacy, Noradjuha-quantong, both polling 27 votes.

Treacy’s Bombers teammate Abby Hallam, Ella Slorach, Taylors Lake, and Olivia Revell, Jeparit Rainbow, were runners-up one vote behind.

An under-14 football best and fairest vote capped off a double for Pimpinio with Cody Helyar sharing joint honours with Laharum’s Harry Miller.

Both polled 32 votes to win from Tyler Hateley, Harrow-balmoral, 29, and Riley Hall, Taylors Lake, 27.

Taylors Lake is also celebratin­g Kayla Kelm’s win for a 13 and under netball best-and-fairest award.

Kelm polled 31 votes to be a clear winner from Tahlia Carnell, Edenhopeap­sley, Mia Mcgrath, Kalkee, and Millie Kuhne, Jeparit-rainbow, all on 25.

Next in line were Mackenzie Bellinger, Southern Mallee Giants, and Bethany Sudholz, Natimuk United, on 22.
