Na­timuk gym­nasts’ end of year dis­play

Na­timuk and District Gym­nas­tic Club’s an­nual dis­play and pre­sen­ta­tion night re­flected a suc­cess­ful year for its 230 reg­is­tered gym­nasts and coaches.

Pres­i­dent Amanda Carracher said gym­nasts per­formed group rou­tines and in­di­vid­ual dis­plays to an ap­pre­cia­tive au­di­ence.

“There was a great at­mos­phere in the gym. We even had a guest per­for­mance from for­mer Na­timuk gym­nast Ryan Mor­row,” she said.

“2017 was a busy year, with 230 reg­is­tered gym­nasts in­clud­ing our kinder­gym par­tic­i­pants, vic­tory at Men’s Ju­nior Vic­to­rian Cham­pi­onships with our level two boys bring­ing home gold and Ben Grey win­ning his level.

“Once again our an­nual in­vi­ta­tional com­pe­ti­tion in Novem­ber was a suc­cess­ful week­end, with the club host­ing more than 300 gym­nasts from across Vic­to­ria and Mt Gam­bier.”

Mrs Carracher said coaches awards were pre­sented in ev­ery level and each class on the night, in­clud­ing recre­ational classes.

Other pre­sen­ta­tions were the Gus Ford­ham Me­mo­rial Ris­ing Star award, which went to Ben Grey and Ge­or­gia Schultz, and the Reg Hate­ley Award – pre­sented to a male and fe­male gym­nast for their ded­i­ca­tion and com­mit­ment to gym­nas­tics dur­ing the year, show­ing good gym­nas­tic abil­ity, en­thu­si­asm to­wards their train­ing and pos­i­tive be­hav­iour to coaches and other gym­nasts – which went to Hunter Cam­pey and Anesu Gororo.

“Anesu was also recog­nised for achiev­ing her state level 10 in gym­nas­tics,” Mrs Carracher said.

A life mem­ber­ship was awarded to Janelle Payne.
