Dangle Lad in border raid

-

Horsham trainer Paul Preusker continued his great run of recent form, training a winner at Morphettville on Saturday.

The Preusker yard had Dangle Lad engaged in a 2035-metre event at benchmark-70 level, with Declan Bates riding.

The six year old got a beautiful run, camping on the heels of the leaders.

Dangle Lad continued to travel well, looming large before the home turn.

Once Bates found clear galloping room, the son of Testafiable let down strongly, and shot to the lead.

Dangle Lad dashed away to score by almost two-and-a-half lengths.

Dangle Lad has now won six races from 29 starts, and a further seven minor placings, for $99,409 in stake money.

Kapaulenko’s cup

Paul Preusker’s good luck continued the following day at Ballarat.

The Ballarat Turf Club hosted the running of the inaugural Miners Rest Cup over 1600 metres.

Preusker was represented by his honest charge, Kapaulenko. The inform Jordan Childs gave the six year old a peach of a ride, box seating and travelling beautifully.

Once in the straight, Kapaulenko took a little time to gather his momentum, but once he hit top gear, he was coming home hard.

In a tough performance, the Kaphero gelding took the lead in the shadows of the post to score a narrow win.

Kapaulenko has proven a good money spinner for his connections, earing $119,941 to go with his six career wins to date.

Yendall on a winner

Horsham’s Dean Yendall also experienced success at the Ballarat meeting, booting home impressive debut winner Reilmartini, $7, in a 1100m maiden for Darren Weir.
