Dimboola Easter community concert

-

Dimboola Recreation Reserve will be a hive of activity on Easter Saturday evening, with Dimboola Town Committee preparing to host a fun-filled event for the whole family.

Committee chairman Bruce Donnelly encouraged residents and visitors to attend a free community concert at the soundshell.

The evening will include an Easter egg scramble and face-painting for children, a free climbing wall, bungee run and a barbecue tea.

Festivities will start at 5pm, with the Easter egg scramble at about 5.30pm, followed by live music by Jeff Woodward from 6pm and Acousticus Stomp from 8pm until about 10pm.

“The town committee has had these events in the past and they have been a great way for families to help celebrate Easter and this year’s event should be no exception,” Mr Donnelly said.

“By all accounts the Riverside Holiday Park is basically booked out and with people camping at Horseshoe Bend and Ackle Bend, former residents returning to see family and friends and locals looking for something to do, it will be an ideal way to entertain the kids and enjoy the festivities of Easter in a family friendly environment.”

Hindmarsh mayor Ron Ismay congratulated Dimboola Town Committee on taking the initiative to organise such an event.

“Easter is a great time for families to catch up and with a large number of visitors to the district, the evening should be a great night out,” he said.

Mr Donnelly said the committee recognised the importance of family entertainment and had committed funding for the event.

“I would like to encourage everyone to come along and support the event by purchasing barbecue tea or buying a few raffle tickets to help pay for the event,” he said.
