Veteran golfers turn to Murtoa

Wimmera district veteran golfers will turn their attention to Murtoa Golf Club on April 30 after playing at Nhill.

Nhill hosted 49 golfers for regular stableford competition on Monday with players recording good scores.

Harry Conway, Horsham, won A Grade with 37 points and John Barton, on his home course, was runner-up with 35.

Ian Moorhead from Dimboola scored the best round for the day, 42 points, to win B Grade and Horsham’s Graeme Moncrieff was runner-up on 38 points.

Ferd Masiero, Horsham, won C Grade with 36 points from Natimuk’s Ralph Chequer, 34, on countback from two other golfers. Nearest the pins: Fourth, Daryl Dunford; seventh, Peter Kelly; ninth, Harry Conway; 12th, Mal Pallot; 14th, Ian Moorhead.
