-

Former Nhill College student Lauren Kerber has won recognition at a special ceremony in Melbourne for outstanding Victorian Certificate of Education results.

Education Minister James Merlino presented the Premier’s VCE Awards to high-achieving students from across Victoria at the ceremony at Melbourne’s Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The award recognised Ms Kerber as one of the best-performing students from across the state.

The awards honoured 274 Victorian students who received 302 awards across 85 subjects, including 276 study awards, 23 top all-round VCE high achiever awards and three top international student awards.

The top all-round VCE high achiever awards recognise students who achieved study scores of 46 or higher out of 50 in at least five VCE subjects, while study awards recognise the best performers in individual VCE subjects.

Ms Kerber received a study award for her VCE and VET Equine Studies results.

Mr Merlino congratulated the top-per- forming students, their teachers and families.

“Students like Lauren have worked hard and excelled in their studies and they deserve our warmest congratulations,” he said.

Member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford said Ms Kerber should be proud of her efforts.

“It’s clear Lauren has worked hard and her results are proof of that,” she said.

“I think Lauren, her family and teachers should all be extremely proud of this great result.”
