Tickets selling for Rockfest
Organisers of a major outdoor rock concert in Horsham next week have urged people to avoid a last-minute rush and make sure they have tickets.
Mildura Entertainment’s David Storer said tickets for Horsham’s inaugural Rockfest at Sawyer Park Soundshell on December 8 would be available on the night, but pre-buying tickets would save patrons time and frustration.
“If Broken Hill’s Rockfest is anything to go by, people don’t want to be wasting time pondering over last-minute tickets. They will want to get in there,” he said.
“For the people who are wondering what it will be like, all I can say is that the Broken Hill show went off – it was a ripper and I expect the same sort of atmosphere in Horsham.”
Mr Storer said the aim was to attract at least 1000 people to the show, featuring a variety of iconic and high-quality Australian rock acts that build throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
“Numbers so far suggest we’re getting there but we’d like to get rid of most of the tickets before the festival,” he said.
“The critical thing is to not leave it to the last minute.
“It is not often you get to see acts of this calibre playing in an outdoor show like this in the Wimmera.” The acts include renowned live performer Shannon Noll, iconic retro acts Chantoozies and the Choir Boys and Australian X-factor winner Reece Mastin.
“For less than the price of a tank of fuel, you can see six great acts in your own backyard. It doesn’t get much better than that,” Mr Storer said.
“We’re keen to get the place pumping and that means making sure we have a big crowd in the park.
“And don’t forget – this is the type of show where you can be as engaged or relaxed as you like. There are plenty of options.
“You can bring a chair if you want and we have marquees, alfresco tables, a VIP beer garden and of course a big dance area.
“The event is about everyone enjoying themselves. No one has ever walked away from a Rockfest without having a good time.”
The Horsham concert is from 3pm to 11pm and is part of the Rockfest tour, which also includes a concert in Swan Hill this weekend.
General admission is $79.95 for the whole day and free of charge for children under 15.
