The Cloudy Bay Pinot and Duck Trail 2015
Duck hunters take note: leading restaurants are offering duck dishes paired with Cloudy Bay’s 2013 Pinot Noir, all through July
A success last year, Cloudy Bay’s Pinot & Duck Trail promotion, celebrating one of the all-time great wine and food matches, will return by popular demand this winter.
For the month of July, some of the best restaurants around the country will pair signature duck dishes with the recently released Cloudy Bay Pinot 2013. With a smoky nose of plum and black cherries and overtones of baking spices and leather, the 2013 vintage is a result of good winter rains followed by ideal spring conditions, leading to great vine balance.
Cloudy Bay viticulturalist Jim White says: “The intense, ripe flavours and excellent tannin structure of Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir 2013 makes this vintage the perfect accompaniment to duck this winter.”
The Cloudy Bay Pinot & Duck Trail will see the renowned pinot’s earthy berry and red fruit flavours matched with an exciting array of duck dishes in leading restaurants around Australia. Those who will plate up their culinary creations together with a glass of Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir 2013 this year include the Hotel Centennial, Sokyo and the Gantry in Sydney; Botanical and Saké in Melbourne; Sails in Noosa; Gambaro Seafood in Brisbane; and Steve’s Fine Wine & Food and the Hyatt in Perth.
