MULHOLLAND LEGEND 480
You’ve probably not heard of Mulholland Automotive. We haven’t. Turns out it’s based in Derby and has supplied various bits to top-tier motorsports and supercar manufacturers for over 20 years. Now it’s decided to build its own car – the Legend 480. Company founder Graham Mulholland is a TVR nut and says the new RWD two-seater is “the true successor for TVR” – a “fast as hell, brutally pure… analogue experience.” Indeed, the styling is the work of former TVR design chief Damian McTaggart.
Cars will be assembled, with a 480bhp LS V8, at the company’s existing 60,000sq ft factory in Derby, and all being well should be ready to go in September for around £90,000 a pop. So there’s a chance you’ll see one of these things on the road before the actual new TVR. The engine, gearbox and differential should all arrive at the factory within the next month or so, then the team can construct the first three prototypes and get testing. So, the question is: refreshing or revolting? Tom Harrison
