BAR’S SECOND FUEL TANK
British American Racing (which went on to become Brawn and then Merc F1) is memorable for two things: Lucky Strike liveries and ‘creative interpretation of the rules’. In a bid to subvert minimum weight, BAR fitted the ’05 007 with a second fuel tank. When drained for scrutineering, the car still weighed over 600kg, thanks to 11.5kg of fuel hidden in a tank behind the bulkhead.
