Ant-MAn & THE WASP

Director Peyton Reed Starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip harris, Judy Greer eta 3 August

Ant-Man may be a superhero who can shrink to the size of an insect, but don’t expect his sequel to be a case of diminishing returns. if the title, which adds in Evangeline Lilly’s burgeoning hero, is anything to go by, Ant-Man And

The Wasp should be even bigger and better than Peyton Reed’s fun heist-flick-inspired original. This time, Scott Lang (aka Ant-Man) is sent by mentor hank Pym (Michael Douglas) on a fresh mission, which he must attempt to juggle with his home life (ex-wife Judy Greer and her beau Bobby Cannavale both return).

With Paul Rudd now snug as a bug in the role of the antihero (he’s already reprised Ant-Man once before, in a scene-stealing Captain America: Civil War turn, which saw him briefly become Giant-Man), he’ll be joined on his mission by hope Van Dyne (Lilly) who, after that super-tease of a post-credits scene in Ant-Man, will be slipping into her own winged cossie to play superhero the Wasp. “We’re so excited about now being able to show her fully formed and what she is as a superhero,” says Reed. “her power set, how she fights…”

Meanwhile, Michael Peña and his comedy crew of crims will also return, and there’ll be fresh faces in the form of Michelle Pfeiffer as hope’s mother – and the original Wasp, who supposedly got sucked into the Quantum Realm years ago – and Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster, who was once an assistant to hank Pym. “We like our little Ant-Man corner of the universe,” Reed has said of standing a little separate from the rest of the MCU. “Because it’s a whole different vibe tonally.” it’s fair to say we’re buzzing with ant-icipation.
