Acted by a non-professional cast, this leisurely drama from writer-director Valeska Grisebach (Longing) unfolds in rural Bulgaria, where tensions develop between the boorish foreman (Reinhardt Wetrek) and laconic loner Meinhard (Meinhard Neumann) who are building a water plant. A skilful reworking of classic western motifs, this benefits from an intriguing protagonist in the grizzled Meinhard.
