French rock’n’roller Johnny Hallyday stars in Italian writer-director Sergio Corbucci’s late-’60s Spaghetti Western, here released in a high-quality digital restoration. After his brother is brutally lynched, Hallyday’s chainmailclad gunslinger seeks revenge on the villainous citizens responsible. Handsomely shot in the Dolomites, Corbucci’s anarchic tale boasts Mexican bandits, anachronistic hippies, and a treacherous female banker (played by Françoise Fabian), though Hallyday proves to be no Clint Eastwood.
