MURDER MOVIE MAKERS
MATTHEW EDWARDS | MCFARLAND
Examining movies based on real-life killers, Matthew Edwards focuses on interviews with the filmmakers who brought these morbid tales to life. It’s poorly written and frequently in bad taste, but most disappointing is that with the exception of Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer - key films such as Zodiac, Snowtown and Monster are barely covered while second-tier titles get deep dives. Despite some nuggets (early Dennis Hopper anecdotes delight), the end result is unsatisfying. Tim Coleman
