Outline a chord progression one note at a time…
The ‘blues boogie’ riff has long been at the core of blues and blues-based rock. The idea is to outline a chord progression using a selection of notes, a) taken straight from the chords, and b) played near to the chord notes to help link things together. Crucially, this is done one or two notes at a time. Experiment with the notes shown here to outline riffs based on E and A chords.
