Inglorious
inglorious II
Despite what the likes of Gene Simmons say, it turns out rock isn’t dead after all. The proof? This blistering 40-minute explosion of riffs from Brit-Swede fivesome Inglorious. Swedish lead player Andreas Eriksson is clearly having an absolute ball as Inglorious channel classic Deep Purple and Whitesnake for this, the Kevin Shirley-mixed follow-up to their 2016 self-titled debut. The lead lines and solo of No Good For You, in particular, are a masterclass in retro rock. Sometimes it goes a little into copycat territory, particularly with Nathan James’s ungodly Coverdale-meets-Roth vocal shrieks, but while it may not be original it darn sure is a hell of a lot of fun.
