Lightnin’ strikes

-

When to work and when to not… “To finish first, first you have to finish,” says Fin. “I’ve done so many records because I finish them. They’re not all great – some would argue none of them are – but they’re out there. At least I finished the damn thing so you can judge them. So don’t think too much about whether it’s perfect – just finish it. And when you get that feeling that you’re in love with it, do as much work as you can on that day. Write the song and go, ‘God, I love this song! I’m going to win Grammys! I’m a genius now!’ Do the work because chances are tomorrow, when you listen to it, you’ll go, ‘Meh, it’s alright…’ So do the heavy lifting when you’re in love with the song.”
