The acoustic guitar parts are tuned to David’s take on Nashville tuning. The sixth string is two octaves higher than standard; the third, fourth and fifth strings are one octave up; and the first and second strings are standard tuned. It’s still standard tuning( EAD G BE ), justin different octaves, so it’s fine to use a standard tuned guitar if you prefer.
