Fol­low­ing up 2015’s Abyss is a tall or­der and Wolfe has en­listed QOTSA man Troy Van Leeuwen for gui­tar du­ties and Con­verge’s Kurt Bal­lou for pro­duc­tion to help her bleak and stark vi­sion come to life. This is a dif­fer­ent kind of heavy; haunt­ing and un­con­fined by cliche, Van Leeuwen’s howl­ing lead em­bed­ded amongst Wolfe’s fuzz-laden gui­tar.
