CHORDS

D5 is a basic powerchord; D5/A is the same shape, except you play the open fifth string. The rest of the chords adapt the powerchord shape to incorporate an open string in the midrange. Play the lowest note of each shape with your first finger to make the position shifts easier – your other fingers should fall roughly into position.
