Use the fingering shown for the A (G shape) chord to make changing from D to A easier (the D includes the fourth finger on the first string). Keep the sixth string quiet when playing E, D and Bm using your fretting hand thumb. Don’t worry if you occasionally include the open fifth string in your E chord – achieving a solid groove is more important.
