Olympic keep great winning record intact

-

A CLASSY hat- trick from attacker Robin Edwards has helped MA Olympic continue their perfect start to the 2015 Townsville Premier League.

Edwards’ treble and a goal from Cade Colquhoun saw Olympic cruise to a 4- 0 victory over Ross River, with the home side unable to find any answers to the league’s form side.

Yesterday’s comfortable win sees MA Olympic remain on top of the premier league standings, with four wins from their first four games.

Coach Gianni Rantucci was impressed with how his side returned to winning ways after a disappointing loss to Warriors in their midweek FFA Cup clash.

“We were solid for the whole game, we limited them to very few chances and the guys showed great determi- nation and commitment for the 90 minutes,” he said.

Olympic weren’t the only side to keep their undefeated streak alive over the weekend as Warriors kept pace with the frontrunners thanks to a gutsy 4- 2 win in the Burdekin.

First half goals from Jack Puddefoot and Mitchell Taylor handed the home side a 2- 1 lead at half time at International Park but the visitors came to life after the break. A second half double from Mark Millgate inspired the Warriors to an important come from behind triumph.

Saints Eagles Souths made it two wins in a row with a 2- 1 win over Ingham, Brothers were too good for Wulguru 3- 1 and Rebels eased past the Northern Fury youth side 3- 0.

There will be no games this weekend due to Anzac Day.
