Townsville four- day outlook

-

Townsville

Partly cloudy. Medium ( 50%) chance of showers in the late afternoon and evening. Light winds becoming east to northeasterly 20 to 30 km/ h in the middle of the day then becoming light in the evening.

Queensland

The upper trough should strengthen inland near the border with New South Wales, directing the rain band and some mainly moderate falls and isolated storms across state's far southeast. A slight to medium chance of showers and possible storms is expected elsewhere east of about Normanton to Roma as the upper trough interacts with surface moisture. The high south of the continent should push cool, dry air further into Queensland from the west with fine, sunny and cool conditions over the west of the state and the southern interior. An onshore flow should produce a slight to medium chance of showers and isolated storms over the northern and northeast tropics.

Herbert & Lower Burdekin

Partly cloudy. Medium ( 40%) chance of showers in the late afternoon and evening. Winds south to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/ h tending east to southeasterly in the late afternoon. Fire danger: high.

Northern Goldfields & Upper Flinders

Partly cloudy. Medium ( 40%) chance of showers in the southeast in the late morning and afternoon.
