Bushfire court case
A CLASS action over the bushfire that destroyed dozens of homes in Perth’s Hills region is gaining momentum, with victims saying they have a strong case against Western Power. The blaze started when a rotten and termite- ridden power pole fell over in January last year, the resulting fire razing 57 homes, seven outbuildings and about 392ha of bushland. Residents pursued the class action after an EnergySafety report found Western Power contractors should have noticed termite activity.
