Townsville Bulletin

Bulletin in shortlist for awards

-

THE Townsville Bulletin is a finalist in the 2015 Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers Association ( PANPA) Advertising & Marketing Awards.

The Bulletin is up for the top gong in three different categories, in the regional titles section of the awards.

The Moments in Time campaign ( Consumer Campaign of the Year) saw the Bulletin tap into its archives, with a committed team of jour- nalists producing a 13- part collector series, a daily history web page, digital specials, a monthly series of commercial historical features, and a 216page hardcover book.

The Cook the Chooks campaign ( Best Cause- Related Campaign or Community Service) coincided with the North Queensland Cowboys reaching the NRL semi- finals last year against the Sydney Roosters. To mark the occasion the Bulletin gave away 1000 fresh chickens to local fans, while raising the ire of Roosters coach Trent Robinson and causing a national stir with star player Anthony Minichiello depicted as a chook being roasted on the front page.

The Bulletin was also nominated for its education liftout Youth in Print ( Best Young Reader Program). Winners will be announced on September 10 at a gala event in Sydney.
