Perfect test run to lead into festival

GET your joggers on and join the Townsville Road Runners tomorrow for the Ross River Dam time trial. Kicking off at 6.30am, it begins at the park near the Kelso Dam at the Upper Ross. This course is a great chance to check your progress for the up- and- coming Running Festival. There will be 10km or 5km options. All are welcome from wobbly newcomers to the elite pros. JOIN the Totally Tropical Orienteeri­ng Club’s Sherriff Park O- Event this Sunday. Start times are from 8am to 9.30am with the course closing at 11am. There will be 20 checkpoint­s on your map, prior to starting you will choose whether you want to gather 6 CPs ( short course), 12 CPs ( Moderate Course) or 18 CPs ( Long Course) – all CPs are worth the same value. On GO you will be given your map and then you need to work out the best route to collect your chosen number of CPs as quickly as you can. Situated on Love Lane, join a team or go solo, and run, jog or walk your way through as many checkpoint­s as possible. It’s a pram friendly event so bring the whole family. Bring your own water, hat, sunscreen and comfortabl­e clothing. All maps, clue- sheets, compass ( if needed), instructio­ns, finish drinks and water are supplied. SPEND tomorrow morning at beautiful Alligator Creek with Soulful Yoga Studio. Classes in the garden run from 9am to 10.30am. Situated on 3 Alligator Creek Road, cost is $ 15 per class or $ 60 for a five- pass class. Bring your own mat, towel and water. All are welcome from bendy yoga gurus to newcomers.
