Campbell swims on
CATE Campbell has revealed plans to swim on to a fourth Olympic Games in 2020 before she will even consider retirement.
The world’s fastest swimmer is preparing to become the first woman in 40 years to defend a 100m freestyle world title. Campbell, 23, will leave next week for the world titles in Russia, where she will look to claim consecutive 100m freestyle crowns.
Only three Australian women – Libby Trickett, Leisel Jones and Jessicah Schipper – have ever defended a world title.
Only East German Kornelia Ender has done it in the 100m freestyle.
