Broncos robbed

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

POLICE are investigating a slew of home burglaries that have resulted in Broncos and Origin rugby league stars being robbed of more than $ 150,000 in personal possessions.

Four Broncos players — Darius Boyd, Ben Hunt, Corey Oates and Lachlan Maranta — were victims of property theft over a 10- day period last month.

In a terrifying ordeal for Boyd, his new Audi A5, valued at $ 100,000, was stolen while his pregnant wife Kayla slept alone, unaware intruders were ransacking their home.

There are fears the break- ins were specifically aimed at well- paid Broncos, given the timing of the robberies and the proximity of their Brisbane homes. The quartet live within a 15km radius.

Darius Boyd.
