Bad candy ails 1000

OF­FI­CIALS say more than 1000 peo­ple, mostly stu­dents, have fallen ill in a south­ern Philip­pine province af­ter eat­ing fruit- flavoured candy sold by ven­dors dur­ing their school re­cess. Pro­vin­cial dis­as­ter man­age­ment of­fi­cer Abel de Guz­man said no deaths have been recorded. Sam­ples of the candy will be tested. She said seven peo­ple have been ar­rested.
