Bad candy ails 1000

OFFICIALS say more than 1000 people, mostly students, have fallen ill in a southern Philippine province after eating fruit- flavoured candy sold by vendors during their school recess. Provincial disaster management officer Abel de Guzman said no deaths have been recorded. Samples of the candy will be tested. She said seven people have been arrested.
