Tourism cash splash helps

TOWNSVILLE tourism is the big winner from the Palaszczuk Government’s $ 400 million four- year funding guarantee.

Our region will benefit from funding certainty that will see sustained tourism marketing to build our strong local tourism brand.

Townsville will also benefit from the $ 2 million Queensland Destination Events Program to grow our local events.

A growing tourism industry means more jobs for Queenslanders and more business for our local accommodation houses, cafes and restaurants.

The Palaszczuk Labor Government has delivered on its commitment to restore funding for tourism and I look forward to continuing to work with our tourism operators to support the local industry grow from strength to strength.
