10 THINGS TO DO THIS WEEKEND

RUN for fun this Saturday with the North Shore Park Run. Meet at the Markets at North Shore Shopping Centre opposite Woolworths and Mille J’s at 6.30am. The run kicks off at 7am and is a free weekly 5km timed run. It’s just you against the clock.

Set among the parkland of North shore, runners follow the river in this relatively easy course so you can push yourself as hard as you like. Register online before your first run.

Bring a printed copy of your registration barcode so you can get your results. No barcode, no results. Bring some cash to join other participants for a cool off and chat at Millie J’s.

out of the sun and head on over to Hot Rock Adventure centre for rock climbing, slack lining and bouldering. Situated at 17 Madden St, Aitkenvale, they are open Saturday and Sunday, from 10am- 6pm. If you have never done it before, there is plenty of skilled staff nearby to help.

the Townsville Hiking Meeting Group for a hike up the Rockwheelers Hill this Saturday. Meet at the Weir State School carpark on 592 Ross River Rd, Kirwan, at 8am.

The walk will go over the river, then up the hill for a different view of Townsville, then returning to Riverside to the coffee shop so bring some money for morning tea. Wear good walking shoes for the climb up the hill and remember to give way to bike riders.

Townsville’s winter this Saturday with the Townsville Roadrunners’ Riverside Figure Eight run. The run begins at Sherriff Park on Love Lane Mundingburra at 6.30am.

There is a long 15.8km run or a short 4.5km run. Both runs follow the picturesque Ross River. Cost is $ 2 for members and $ 5 for non- members. Visit townsvilleroadrunners. com. au.
