Gran­tham in­quiry

A SOUTH­EAST Queens­land com­mu­nity dev­as­tated by deadly flood­wa­ters in 2011 will have its say more than four years on, with public hear­ings in a new com­mis­sion of in­quiry set to be­gin. Twelve peo­ple died on Jan­uary 10, 2011, in flood­ing at Gran­tham, west of Bris­bane. Public in­quiries into the Gran­tham Floods Com­mis­sion of In­quiry will be­gin in nearby Gat­ton to­day. The first five days of hear­ings will give wit­nesses and res­i­dents the chance to speak about the day a wall of wa­ter surged through their town­ship.
