Mr Dodd S Clarke, one of the founders of the Townsville Bulletin and its editor for over 30 years, died in his sleep at his residence in South Townsville on Thursday night [ aged 70]. He was one of the State’s most cultured men. He was an omnivorous reader and blessed with a memory which never forsook him. Possessed of a grace of expression, a wide toleration and a disposition of unfailing kindness, he commanded respect and love.
