MP claims every cent

WHILE Australian Speaker Bronwyn Bishop attracts flak over her $ 5000 helicopter ride, a British MP is also courting attention over his travel expenses — including a nine- pence ( 19¢) claim for a 320m car trip. Rob Wilson, the Conservative member for Reading East, defended the cost, but admitted such small claims may look “odd”. He has made a number of claims for short journeys, with many coming in under $ 2, but said over a year the mileage “does add up”. The 19¢ trip was a “constituency engagement”.
