TITANS SHUNT COAL TRAIN

- CHRIS GARRY

Taylor has long been viewed as an error- riddled backrower who loses games more often than his freakish skill wins them.

The truth is Taylor is actually – shock horror – reliable.

Taylor has made just eight errors in 13 games this year, fewer than starting forwards Luke Douglas, Ryan James and Nate Myles.

Taylor also makes more metres than those three players and has busted 26 tackles this season, the most of any Titans forward.

Thaiday, who

spent

four seasons with Taylor at Brisbane, backed him to be a star again “at the right club”.

Thaiday and the Broncos face a Taylor- less Titans on Friday at Suncorp Stadium.

Thaiday said it had become hard to understand the Gold Coast’s plans for him.

“What position is he playing now?” he asked.

“The talent is still there, but he needs someone to steer him in the right direction.

“I am sure he still has a future in our game if he finds the right club and right person to encourage him.
