SHOPPING FOR GOOD CAUSE IS THE BEST

- JANE ARMITSTEAD

NOTHING beats a big spring clean, especially when it’s for a good cause.

Dancenorth’s annual fundraiser Spring Fling attracted hundreds of keen shoppers over the weekend as they picked up bargains on designer labels.

Dancenorth operations manager Karin Palmer said the most sought- after pieces were from Australian and European brands including Missoni and Alistair Trung.

“There were some really edgy clothes that just walked out the door,” Ms Palmer said.

“We got absolutely smashed on Friday morning with people racing in to get the best items first. They were all after a bargain and something nice that they wouldn’t normally be able to afford.”

Ms Palmer said women brought in suitcases full of clothes to sell at the fourth annual event. Half of the money raised goes to the clothes- owners and the rest is donated to Dancenorth’s community education program.
