Review panel probes biting allegation
AN alleged bite from Melbourne’s Jesse Bromwich on St George Illawarra star Josh Dugan will be a priority case for the NRL match review committee today as it investigates at least five incidents out of Round 20.
Bromwich was put on report over the allegation from the NSW fullback in the 69th minute of the Storm’s win in Napier on Saturday night.
Dugan immediately pointed to his arm as he freed himself from the Kiwi Test prop’s tackle. He complained during a break in play to referee Matt Cecchin.
Wests Tigers prop Martin Taupau’s swinging arm on James Maloney late in Sydney Roosters’ 33- 8 win on Friday night will also be scrutinised.
Taupau was put on report and sin- binned.
A late shot from Brisbane’s Adam Blair on Gold Coast playmaker Kane Elgey in the Broncos’ big win on Friday night will also be looked at by match review co- ordinator Michael Buettner and his team.
