Voice host Sonia’s relishing going live

- JACKIE EPSTEIN

SONIA Kruger can’t wait to work to her strengths in prime time: doing live television.

The co- host of The Voice said: “I really feel sometimes that I’m a bit rubbish at taped shows. Some people are really good at it, they can present the Getaways and they can do the recorded pieces to camera. I actually feel like I need an audience and luckily with The Voice there is an audience, so we actually tape it as live.”

The Voice will start its live shows as soon as next week.

Kruger ( pictured) said she had met only one of the coaches, Delta Goodrem.

“Ricky is actually really funny and I love Jessie because she is what she is,’’ she said.

“She’s bolshie and she’s upfront and she’s opinionated and I love all that about her. Delta is one of the most beautiful kindhearted people you could ever hope to meet. Which is why it’s interesting they clashed professionally in terms of their opinions for certain artists. Benji is just so sweet and you could tell he was so in love and he was missing ( wife Cameron Diaz) so I hope he brings her out for some of the live shows.”

Kruger, 49, is juggling work as co- host of Mornings, The Voice and being a mum to six- month- old Maggie.

“Being a mum doesn’t feel like a job,’’ she said.

“It’s just so nice to see her little smiley face every morning. And they don’t tell you this about babies but when you see them first thing in the morning they’re ( a) really happy and ( b) they have a physical reaction so their whole body squirms and there’s something so nice about being greeted like that in the morning.

“She’s divine.”
