BHP set to axe 180 jobs from HQ in Melbourne
MINING giant BHP Billiton is expected to cut more than a third of its workforce at its Melbourne head office.
BHP is shedding about 180 positions at its Collins Street headquarters following the completion of its South32 demerger in May, The Australian Financial Review reports.
The company is reducing head office staff by 37 per cent from a peak of 480 positions to about 300.
Comment was being sought from BHP.
