Those ultra busy boys of internationally acclaimed Aston Shuffle are bringing their phenomenal parade of hit tracks to Townsville
THE Aston Shuffle are ready to finish their national DJ tour with a wonderful bang at Flinders Social on Saturday night.
After closing out 2014 with an epic national live album tour, a gold single for their anthem Tear It Down, and finally their main stage performances on Stereosonic, The Aston Shuffle have spent the first six months of this year preparing the next wave of music and performances.
The first to emerge from the studio was their phenomenal remix of Nicki Minaj’s Truffle Butter, storming straight to # 1 on Hype Machine.
Now, with new originals nearing completion, the duo of Mikah Freeman and Vance Musgrove drop another remix with a reinvention of Junior Jack’s classic E Samba.
To celebrate, the boys – now split between New York and Canberra – get together for the first tour in six months and take it back to the clubs with a 10- date DJ tour.
Their long- awaiting sophomore album, featuring the singles Back and Forth, Tear It Down, No Place Like Home, Comfortable and Can’t Stop Now is out now.
These are also the guys playing all the sickest tracks from all over the world every Friday night on Triple J.
The Australian EDM duo Aston Shuffle launched their career in the mid- 2000s with a set of remixes.
Their debut single, For Everyone, landed in 2008.
That was the same year the duo was hired, along with Kissy Sell Out, to mix the Ministry of Sound compilation Mashed, Vol. 4.
They began 2011 by opening for David Guetta and Armand Van Helden at the Shore Thing New Year’s Eve party on Bondi Beach, and in April they released their debut album Seventeen Past Midnight on the Downright label.
In 2013 they released their Can’t Stop Now single on Casablanca.
>> Doors open at 10pm. Entry is $ 20 or $ 10 before 11pm.
