TIME TO DIVE BACK IN

-

FORREST Beach Surf Lifesaving Club president Chris Cantoni wants to spread the word that it is safe to return to Ingham’s number one swimming spot. After a report early in the year about a croc in the Forrest Beach stinger net, the swimmers have vamoosed. Mr Cantoni wants everyone to know that the net is checked every day at 6am. Lifesavers will be on patrol this weekend from 1pm- 5pm Saturday and 8am5pm Sunday. Beat the heat at Forrest Beach this weekend. AND speaking of crocs, I’m in Darwin at present and the front page yesterday of this great northern city’s NT News was all about crocs heading south. There are so many of them the population is spreading out in search of greener pastures. Next time someone says it’s safe to go floating around in an inner tube in the Katherine Gorge, tell them to throw a dog in first. They pulled a big one out of there a week ago. It’s not much different in Queensland, where there are reported sightings in the Mary and Noosa rivers.
