OPINION PLAY EUROVISION BATON CHANGE

-

you have this event booked with a dress- up party attached every year. It might be your secret guilty pleasure.

Maybe it’s something you loathe and have no interest in, or your limited experience of watching it extends to having it as background noise at a mate’s wine and cheese night.

Wherever you sit, Eurovision is coming in May and it’s sure to be as magical and insanely quirky as ever.

The Ukraine is hosting this year and even though it’s a little while away, the fanfare has well and truly started.

Draped in the Aussie flag is our representative, The X- Factor big winner with his chicken dinner, Isaiah Firebrace.

That’s exciting, but I’ll admit I was more excited to hear who the new SBS announcers would be.

We all slapped our own faces in shock and sadness when we heard awesome humans Julia Zemiro and Sam Pang would be leaving the SBS coverage after eight years of beautiful service. However, when the latest cohosts were announced on Friday, I did pee my pants just a little because SBS has backed a winner in darling radio host, presenter, and music buff Myf Warhurst and hilarious comedian Joel Creasey.

They made the official announcement via dress- up montage, because why the hell not?

It’s sure to be another amazing year of “what the” moments and a definite Aussie win with these two taking control.
