Good buzz about trip

-

TO get a 49- 39 win against the Adelaide Thunderbirds away from home was huge, even though we were quietly confident going into the game.

We came out strong and maintained the intensity, so we have received a lot of confidence from that performance.

There’s still a few areas we need to work on though, and our last quarter was a bit disappointing, so this week we have been focusing on those parts of our game.

The intensity at training has been very strong and there has been a good buzz going into our away game against a very talented Sunshine Coast Lightning team.

We know it’s going to be a very difficult game.

We started the year with a draw against Sunshine Coast and I guess there is a good Queensland rivalry between us, and there’s so many matchups that will make it an interesting game.

Cara Koenen, who I played junior netball with in Townsville, is one of their talented players and she can be very difficult to shut down.

We will need to be at our best and I’m confident we will be, but it’s about getting it right during the game and steadily improving every week.

I hope everyone is doing OK in North Queensland and my thoughts are with you.

My family and I sent messages back and forth when Cyclone Debbie was approaching and it’s good to hear Townsville is doing all right.
