Man arrested after baby dies
A MAN has been arrested after a two- month- old baby boy died in Wagga Wagga in NSW’s Riverina region. Investigators say they are treating the infant’s death with “a degree of suspicion”. The baby was “seriously unwell” when emergency services were called to a home at 5am yesterday, following reports of an infant in distress. Paramedics treated him at the scene and he was rushed to Wagga Wagga Rural Referral Hospital but died a short time later. A 32- year- old man — believed to be related to the baby — was arrested at the home. “We can’t definitively say whether it was caused by an illness or an injury,” Detective Inspector Bob Noble said.
