DESIGNS ON BARGAINS

-

TOWNSVILLE model Rachael Finch has finally snapped back at trolls who slammed her modern parenting methods last year. The 28- year- old told Channel Seven’s The Morning Show this week that “there’s always so much more to someone’s life than what meets the eye” after she was labelled a “part- time parent” by trolls. The mother of three- year- old daughter Violet and eight- week- old son Dominic received the backlash online after revealing last year that grandmother Irena looked after her eldest child from Friday to Sunday each week. Rachael insisted that critics “don’t understand the intricacies” of her relationship with husband Michael Miziner, whom she met on Dancing with the Stars and runs newly launched online dance fitness, health and wellness program B. O. D By Rachael Finch. TIME is running out to be part of the Townsville Turf Club’s 100 Club – an exclusive VIP corporate racegoer club. The new and second- hand highend and hot- right- now clothing, handbag, shoes and jewellery shopfront at Hub on Echlin in West End will officially start trading on Tuesday.

“My stock is mostly latest season, either new with tags or immaculate because they’ve only been worn once and most prices are 50 per cent to 70 per cent off the recommended retail price,” owner Bec Crumpler ( pictured) said.

“I have over 200 pieces ready in store for the opening, including Gucci, Zimmerman, Alice McCall, Louis Vuitton, Camilla, Asilio, Thurley, Burberry and Alex Perry.”

The stay- at- home mother- ofthree, aged 5, 8 and 13, came up with the concept after selling her own wardrobe surplus online this year.

“I had a little sale on Facebook – that’s when I realised there was a market for new and preloved designer clothing and accessories in Townsville so Archive was born,” Ms Crumpler said.

“I source clothes from all over the world. I can’t give up too many secrets but I buy from women who have purchased goods the wrong size or not quite right for them.”

The first 10 customers through the door on Tuesday will receive a gift bag. Doors open from 9am to 5pm. EMBRACE your inner boho goddess for the day by lounging around in a designer teepee for a good cause. The one- of- a- kind, ladies- only event The Ville goes BOHO for Charity will be held on May 13 at The Ville Hotel & Casino to raise money for Heart Kids Qld. Organised by Dreamscene Events owner Sarah Adams ( pictured), it will include shoulder massages, hand pampering, jewellery stations, fortune telling, a photo booth, flower crowns, hair- braiding services, make- up touch- ups, live music, a dessert buffet and belly dancing for attendees. It’s a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day, which is the next day on May 14, with the most important ladies in your life and guests are being urged to bring mothers and grandmothers along for a unique Mother’s Day gift. Tickets are $ 119 and can be purchased from townsvilletickets. com. au. Sydney- based commentators can deny all they like, our climate has changed. And yet we remain mere spectators to the interminable process of securing a water supply for our tropical drought.
