EMILY’S DREAM COMES TRUE
FITNESS instructor Emily Wright is realising a dream to open her own wellness training centre with the launch of Movement Warehouse at Idalia this week.
Ms Wright, who also works in the Australian Army, has leased a 420sq m warehouse on Oonoonba Rd and provides morning and evening classes for women but is looking to ex- pand with other instructors providing services in yoga and fitness during the day.
She said she would cater to women’s needs and goals.
“Our training incorporates a variety of methods with a focus on strength and mobility,” Ms Wright said.
“We use Olympic lifts and functional movement to increase stamina and strength.”
Ms Wright competed in gymnastics nationally from the age of five, performing artistic gymnastics on the uneven bars, the vault and floor.
Later, she continued with physical exercise, working as a group fitness instructor in Newcastle before joining the Army.
She said friends in Townsville had asked her to provide classes at a local gym and demand for her services grew to a point where her dream of operating her own wellness train- ing centre could be realised.
“I always wanted to open a gymnasium for women. Running the classes gave me the confidence to take it further. I love what I do,” Ms Wright said.

Colliers International leasing agent Shaun McLaren said Ms Wright had taken a threeyear over quality space in a good location.
“A new property owner has taken this site on and undertaken a big refurbishment to make it present well. It is ideal for Emily,” Mr McLaren said.
“I think it’s a good outcome for everyone in that area.”
Ms Wright said she liked the location and thought the property had vibe about it”.
“I want to create a community that can provide a healthy lifestyle, healthy habits and a place where people can make friends and gain confidence,” she said.
The property, comprising a 420sq m warehouse, showroom and office on a 1623sq m site, sold earlier this year through Knight Frank for $ 440,000. a “really good
