Honesty the best policy as energy company invests in city

- DOMANII CAMERON

A RAW and honest approach to showcasing Townsville’s potential this week has already lured more potential investment from the southeast corner.

Energy company Nu- tility invested in Townsville last week when the company signed a solar deal with an aged- care facility.

And since Townsville Enterprise’s event on Wednesday, the company has organised another meeting with various business leaders in the region next week.

Nu- tility managing director Daniel Barber said he saw potential in Townsville’s economy.

“I was quite surprised at how honest everyone was – ‘ Hey look, we’ve let the ball slip to be honest, we know it’s not great now and can you help us?’” he said.

“It was all very open and raw and honest, the no bulls-- t approach seems to be the Townsville way. We have quite a lot of money to invest up in the North.”

Nu- tility, which offers a range of energy services to businesses and organisations in a bid to reduce energy costs, has offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. “If you think you’re paying too much money we would work with you to reduce energy costs and we would then engage local contractors to do that work,” Mr Barber said.

“But we’re also using exist- ing companies work.”

Mr Barber said the company’s main focus was on Townsville and Brisbane.

“You guys want to get some stuff happening so let’s talk,” he said. to supply

“We’ll be coming up a lot over the next few months.

“We needed to see that TEL event to see what is needed.

“We got a really resounding ‘ please come and talk to us’.”
